Sharing success on Social Enterprise Day 2021

Social Enterprise Day 2021 was on Thursday 11 November this year and is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week organised by Social Enterprise UK. On this day #WhoKnew took place – a global digital campaign designed to give social enterprises the chance to tell their stories, show what makes them different from traditional businesses and shout about the impact of their work.

The campaign is all about highlighting the diversity in the sector across the globe and is an opportunity for all social enterprises to take part in a public facing campaign, as well as engaging their staff directly with their social enterprise mission. This year has been a turbulent one for so many social enterprises, but we know that across the world social enterprises have been at the heart of community responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. This campaign is also a chance to share stories about the difference you have made to communities at this difficult time.

So, Greenstream Flooring CIC took part by sharing three impactful statements about the past year:

The three facts which we shared throughout the day on our social media channels were:

  • Since January 2021 we have supported 121 households by providing access to low-cost flooring through the affordable flooring programme. Through this programme we partnered with nine housing associations.
  • Since January 2021 we have given away 18,900 carpet tiles which is 4,725 m2 - enough to carpet 270 rooms.
  • Our Better Greener project will support 28 individuals over one-year to access work experience and training, providing them with knowledge about reuse and recycling. The feedback so far has been very positive with individuals continuing to volunteer and moving into employment.
